Year Two WR Breakouts?

Year two is very important for fantasy football players. Usually if they are going to breakout, year two is when it happens, or at least starts to happen. This is also usually the only time you can really get a good value on the player before they become higher picks in drafts later on. Not to mention you can usually get these players later and build a solid foundation prior to drafting them. Yes there are some year two players right now being taken a little higher but that's because we have seen them perform well already or the hype is real. So here is a list of players that I think have a good chance of a year two breakout and that can offer some value in your drafts.

  • Justin Jefferson

  • CeeDee Lamb

  • Tee Higgins

  • Brandon Aiyuk

  • Jerry Jeudy

  • Chase Claypool

  • Laviska Shenault

  • Michael Pittman

  • Henry Ruggs

  • Darnell Mooney

  • Jalen Raegor

  • Bryan Edwards

  • Donovan Peoples-Jones

  • Marquez Callaway

Now some of these guys are WAY more likely to breakout than the others. Hentz the year two wr breakouts? The obvious ones are Justin Jefferson and CeeDee Lamb. They are also being drafted higher because we have seen how great they are already. I'd like to give a small breakdown of why these other players are on my list and why I think they have the potential of providing you some good value if they hit.

Tee Higgins: He's a fantastic WR, the only thing holding him back is how well the rookie Ja’Marr Chase will perform and the presence of Tyler Boys. Some say too many mouths to feed, we shall see

Brandon Aiyuk: When he's healthy and on the field he's a nightmare to cover, fast and shifty. Good route runner and if or when Lance becomes the QB it will only get better.

Jerry Jeudy: Just get this man the ball, literally throw it to him, get a completion. The QB struggled to connect with Jeudy last year. Teddy just got named the starter so that helps.

Chase Claypool: When he finally got a handle on this offense they were getting him the ball and he was scoring TDs. Yes there are other WRs there demanding passes as well. But Claypool is very talented and has a nose for the endzone.

Darnell Mooney: Love his route running, if he had a QB that could actually connect with him his stats would be even better! I’m telling you this guy has a chance of having a good year with an upgrade at QB...hopefully it's Fields! Oh yes and Anthony Miller is gone. Its Robinson and Mooney

Now we start to dive a little deeper in your draft. The chances of these guys breaking out are slimmer. But should at least give you a chance and some value. As well as the potential free agent add that can win you weeks.

Leviska Shenault: I like what I saw last year from him. Five TDs, not bad, should only get better for fantasy with the man, myth, legend Trevor Lawrence at QB.

Michael Pittman: I mean who does he have to beat out to be the WR1 on the team? TY Hilton, I think he can do that. Plus an upgrade at QB should help...at least when Wentz is healthy that is.

Henry Ruggs: The speedster added on some muscle this year. The Raiders believe in him and if it pans out offers good value!

Jalen Raegor: Another year under his belt learning the speed of the game and working on his hands will help. Hurts will make this offense explosive and that will only help Raegors chances.

Bryan Edwards: The hype is real and it's happening again in training camp! All im seeing and hearing is good things about Edwards and that's exciting because he is basically free right now in drafts. He could end up being a TD machine.

Donovan Peoples-Jones: What an awesome name right? Anyways I also love what i'm seeing and hearing in training camp and pre season with him. The only things holding him back are the run heavy scheme and some dudes named OBJ and Jarvis.

Marquez Callaway: Has been looking good in camp and preseason as well. Plus with Thomas hurt to start the year he will have the opportunity in a Sean Payton offense to shine. Have you even seen his name on the draft board? Maybe after his last game you will.

I could go into each player more, but I just ask you to keep an eye on them and see what I'm talking about here. Get the value now while you still can. Especially in Dynasty leagues. Obviously QB play is very important as well so monitor those situations. If anything, at least put these guys on your watchlist.

Now go out there and destroy your draft and win some fantasy football championships!
