Valuable rookies are sometimes hard to find, Ill make it simple for you.
I typically chase the rookies that are going to have an impact on the team immediately. An easy way to tell is if the player was drafted in the first round of the NFL draft or he fits into a vacant role on the team. So let's get to it, here are rookies that you need to grab:
Clyde Edwards-Helaire RB (KC)
Jonathan Taylor RB (IND)
D'Andre Swift RB (DET)
Cam Akers RB (LAR)
J.K. Dobbins RB (BAL)
CeeDee Lamb WR (DAL)
Zack Moss RB (BUF)
Jalen Raegor WR (PHI)
Joe Burrow QB (CIN)
Justin Jefferson WR (MIN)
Now here is a few reasons why these guys are on my list.
CEH was taken in the first round and will make an immediate impact with starter Damien Williams opting out in the best offense in the NFL. This was the best landing spot for CEH.
Jonathan Taylor is a beast of a player and will be running behind one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. Marlon Mack is still there but Taylor is the future back to have.
D'Andre Swift will either take over or at least split with Kerryon Johnson. Not exactly what you want but Johnson cant stay healthy and that would make Swift the lead back.
Cam Akers does't exactly have the best offensive line to run behind, but he does have an awesome HC in Mcvay. The Rams took him high enough to feature and use efficiently.
J.K. Dobbins is in the best rushing offense in the NFL. Which will fit him well, Ravens love their RBs and so should you.
CeeDee Lamb is a very talented WR and Jerry Jones just couldn't pass on him. Neither should you, that offense should be able to support three WRs and talks of Lamb are positive in camp.
Zack Moss is going into a rising offense and has only Singletary to compete with. Moss will fill the Frank Gore roll last year and he will take better advantage of it and may run away with the job.
Jalen Raegor is going into a WR needy PHI team. So he should have an impact immediately or until Alshon Jefferey returns. Wentz is a good QB and will give him the best shot at making plays. (Raegor inured)
Joe Burrow is a winner and will have an impact in the NFL. He has a good enough supporting cast to put up points this year. Grab him late with a smile.
Justin Jefferson is going to be taking most of the targets Diggs left behind. He is a sick route runner and has great hands. The ball just has to get to him in a high running offense and not the most accurate QB.
Rookies tend to start off slow, this year will probably be more than most given the impact of Covid19. So don't give up too early on these guys if they do happen to start off slow. If you come away with one or more of these guys you are off to a good start.
