QB/WR Stacking Strategy

QB/WR stacking is when you draft both the QB and usually the top WR of the same team. So What does this look like and will it work for you?

This is a popular strategy on DFS (daily fantasy sports) and commonly used in normal leagues. Here are some good examples on what this looks like (in no particular order):

Drew Brees/Michael Thomas

Aaron Rodgers/Davante Adams

Patrick Mahomes/Tyreek Hill

Matt Ryan/Julio Jones

Kyler Murray/Deandre Hopkins

Tom Brady/Chris Godwin/Mike Evans

Matthew Stafford/Kenny Golladay

Dak Prescott/Amari Cooper

If you were to have any of these or other "stacks" you could potentially double up your fantasy points. Lets say Rodgers throws a TD to Adams, you get all the points scored on that play and get a huge boost in points.

Now here are some helpful tips for those interested. Don't go into a draft completely set on just trying to get a certain stack. Start your draft and go from there, maybe a player falls and you can get a "cheap" stack like a Murray/Hopkins or Brady/Godwin/Evans. The more value you get from the stack the most likely your team will have depth at other positions.

If your targeting one of the higher QBs in the draft and want to go with the stacking strategy, you might want to pull the trigger on that WR earlier than you would like. Also could work the other way around as well depending on your draft and scoring settings. Example would be if you took Tyreek Hill/Mahomes first round you would want to target them in the second.

This strategy isn't for everyone. Some people don't like to pay the high draft price. Some people say what if they have a bad year? This is fantasy football and anything can happen. Very unpredictable, but I bet if you had Brady/Moss that historic year you won your league.
